Rigorous education and training keep Adlard Dental at the forefront of service and technology, even after
32 years in the dental
profession.
‘Dental Bootkamp’, one of the team’s most recently attended workshops, aptly receives its name.
Other courses, from foundational gum treatment, fresh breath therapy and the newest breakthroughs in tooth-colored restorations offer patient comfort, security, safety and appearance. Dr. Adlard’s philosophy revolves around partnership with his patients in their dental care, and utmost integrity.
Dr. Adlard is an active leader in his church, and has received the highest honor, the Silver Beaver, for his volunteer work in scouting. |
 
“I give people back their smiles”, says Dr. Derek Gilmore, Associate Dentist at Adlard Dental.
Known for his light-hearted attitude and interest in the overall well-being of his patients (he is interested in the art of ancient Chinese medicine), Dr. Gilmore is a favorite with patients and staff.
Accepted early into the University of Missouri Dental School at Kansas City, Dr. Gilmore has included many additional courses, particularly those on cosmetic dentistry and oral sedation. “Patients can now say, ‘My dentist puts me to sleep!' Hopefully, not by boring them, but by giving them a short nap while we do their work. They wake up refreshed and ready to continue their day.”
Active in several dental study clubs, and a hands-on dad to his son, Dr. Gilmore keeps busy and productive. |
  The aspect of dentistry Dr. Clemons enjoys most is rehabilitating the
smile
of people who haven't been able to smile for years. "I really enjoy
the
look on a patient's face when they see themselves in their new denture
for
the first time. Since I perform a lot of surgery, I get to meet people
who
have been avoiding the dentist for years, often suffering great pain
and
embarrassment from the condition of their teeth. When they look in
that
mirror and see a nice smile for the first time in years, you know that
you
have really made a difference in their life. They can now face the
world
with renewed confidence."
Dr. Clemons spends his free time riding his mountain bike, making
jewelry
and studying medieval history. He has a shop in his garage with a
large
assortment of hammers and metal shaping stakes where he re-creates
armor
from the middle ages. He has taught classes on historical armor, and
has
been a guest lecturer at UMKC on arms and armor of the medieval
knight.
